After much prayerful discernment and diligent search, our new Rector has been revealed to the congregation of Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church, Phoenixville. The Discernment Committee has offered the name of the Reverend Samuel Ngundu to be the 19th Rector of our church. The Vestry approved this candidate by unanimous vote of approval.
Father Sam is currently a Priest Associate at The African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas in Philadelphia, PA. He and his wife, Sylvia currently live in Claymont, Delaware.
In Father Sam’s words, I strive not to be a “by-stander” as I minister to others. I feel a strong inclination toward pastoral care. It is at the heart of my ministry. I bring my deep faith in God, in God’s love and God’s presence with us, and I journey with people in their pain.
Father Sam was drawn to Saint Peter’s because of our commitment to outreach and social justice. He can be described as a calm, positive person with deep spiritual energy, and he believes in consensus leadership. Please welcome Father Sam and his wife, Sylvia, as he begins his ministry with us on Advent 1, December 1, 2019.
