Grace and Peace to you all,
A very blessed Pentecost and happy birthday to the church of Christ.
Words escape me today, feelings of helplessness as i watch the news have more often crept and got a hold of me, fear has had its grip too as we come face to face with this level of hatred and disregard for human life. Uncertainty and anxiety also take their toll as we ask will this ever end.
“But we need not be paralyzed by our past or our present. We are not slaves to fate but people of faith. Our long-term commitment to racial justice and reconciliation is embedded in our identity as baptized followers of Jesus. We will still be doing it when the news cameras are long gone”. Bishop Michael Curry.
As it was on the day of Pentecost….
1 Breathe on me, Breath of God, fill me with life anew,
that I may love the way you love, and do what you would do.
2 Breathe on me, Breath of God, until my heart is pure,
until my will is one with yours, to do and to endure.
3 Breathe on me, Breath of God, so shall I never die,
but live with you the perfect life for all eternity.
