St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is delighted to serve as a free community hub during the Phoenixville Summer Garden Tour 2026. This year’s tour theme is Bird Up! Elevating Bird-Friendly Gardens. The 2026 Garden Tour is an invitation to imagine our yards, gardens, and shared spaces as places where birds, pollinators, and people can thrive together.
While the full Phoenixville Summer Garden Tour includes fifteen ticketed tour visits throughout Phoenixville, everyone is welcome at St. Peter’s, whether or not you purchase a tour ticket. Throughout the day, St. Peter’s will be open as a free and family-friendly gathering space for learning, creativity, and connection.

What to Expect at St. Peter’s
From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, St. Peter’s will be alive with opportunities to explore bird-friendly gardening, meet community partners, and enjoy interactive nature-based activities.
Native Plant Sale with Behmerwald Nursery
Look for the big blue tent from the parking lot. Behmerwald Nursery staff will be on site throughout the event with a native plant sale and practical guidance for gardeners. Visitors can chat with the professionals about which bird-friendly native plants may work best for their own yards and landscapes.
Nature Journaling with Award-Winning Artist Jolie Chylack
Stop by for nature journaling demos with award-winning artist Jolie Chylack. Visitors will be invited to slow down, observe closely, and discover how journaling can deepen our relationship with the living world around us.
Tempera Window Painting with Jolie Chylack
Jolie will also lead tempera painting on windows, offering a creative way to learn about bird-strike prevention. This activity connects art and conservation, showing how simple visual interventions on glass can help make our buildings safer for birds.
Valley Forge Audubon Society
Meet representatives from Valley Forge Audubon Society and learn about the Bird Habitat Recognition Program, along with practical ways to make your own property more welcoming to birds and biodiversity.
Bird Town Pennsylvania
Visit with Bird Town Pennsylvania to learn more about bird-strike prevention, celebrate Phoenixville Borough’s Bird Town status, and discover how communities can come together around bird-friendly practices.
Pennsylvania Interfaith Power & Light
Meet Pennsylvania Interfaith Power & Light (PA IPL), an organization working to cultivate a moral response to climate change and caring for creation. Throughout the day, PA IPL will be distributing native plant seeds, offering a simple, accessible way to begin supporting birds, pollinators, and resilient local ecosystems right at home.
Explore the Grounds at St. Peter’s
Visitors are invited to explore the beautiful gardens on St. Peter’s grounds, including our bird-friendly cloister garden. These spaces reflect an ongoing commitment to habitat, hospitality, and ecological beauty — showing how church grounds can become places of refuge for both people and wildlife.

Special Feature: Live Ambassador Birds
From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Indian Run Environmental Education Center will be on site at St. Peter’s with live ambassador birds. This is a special opportunity to encounter birds of prey up close and learn more about the native avian species that share our region. Additionally, visitors can explore simple ways to support backyard birds through thoughtful habitat care.

Free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis with our neighbors at the Phoenixville Area Senior Center (153 Church Street).

The broader Phoenixville Summer Garden Tour 2026 takes place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and celebrates gardens that support birds through native plants, layered landscapes, and biodiversity-friendly practices. Tour visitors will explore gardens across Phoenixville, gather ideas for their own properties, visit a native plant sale, and enjoy community-centered activities throughout the day. Along the way, visitors can stop by St. Peter’s to learn about the Pennsylvania Audubon Council’s Bird Habitat Recognition Program (BHRP), with support from our local community partner Valley Forge Audubon Society. The BHRP helps homeowners create and recognize bird-friendly habitats — and offers a clear path for homeowners and renters to take part by registering their properties.
