“There is a Balm in Gilead.” A message from Father Sam.

Peace and blessings to you on this blessed Easter morning,

I trust that you and your loved ones have been well, safe and blessed. I continue to thank God for each and everyone of you and i pray for you earnestly, I hope you are doing the same.

We continue to find ourselves in a sober moment. These are uncertain times around the world and fears are rising. People who have never felt anxious before are suddenly weighed down with worry and are not sure what to do next.

This morning, I would like to encourage you with the words of a popular hymn by Tom Varner…

There is a balm in Gilead, To make the wounded whole; There is a balm in Gilead, To heal the sin-sick soul.

  1. Sometimes I feel discouraged, And think my work’s in vain, But then the Holy Spirit Revives my soul again.
  2. If you cannot preach like Peter, If you cannot pray like Paul, You can tell the love of Jesus, And say He died for all.
  3. Don’t ever feel discouraged, ’Cause Jesus is your friend, And if you lack for knowledge, He’ll not refuse to lend.

Continue to strengthen your home altars by praying together as a family and sharing the word of God. This practice will produce strong individuals.
