The very first non-holiday Saturday service was held at St. Peter’s on May 13, 2023 at 4:30pm, with Father Sam celebrating.
Approximately 30 parishioners attended, including adults, youth and children.
Following a long history of other churches holding Saturday evening services as an alternative to Sunday services, Father Sam embarked on this initiative in recognition of the decades-long trend of children and youth having activities (such as sports) on Sunday mornings and some adults unable to attend Sundays for various reasons.
It will provide an opportunity for a biblical lesson, scripture reading, prayers, and the Holy Eucharist in an abbreviated format.
These Saturday services are scheduled to be monthly on the second Saturday of the month. The next one is planned for June 10th.
